Hi everyone! Today I would like to show a stamping plate and stamper/scraper from We Heart Nail Art. We Heart Nail Art is an online store bringing imported brands to South African nail addicts. What I really love about this is that I can shop for these rather exclusive brands from the comfort of my chair. Goods are delivered via courier, so no waiting for your package to come through snail mail and possibly getting stuck at customs and then still having to pay more when it finally arrives in your mailbox. The owner, Shann, is also always on the lookout for new exciting products she can offer so it is definitely worth keeping an eye on their site and social media for updates.

One of the products Shann is importing for us nail addicts are MoYou London stamping plates and stampers. MoYou London are a prominent international brand that offers stamping tools including plates, stamping polishes and stampers. I have already reviewed the MoYou London black stamping polish which can also be sourced from We Heart Nail Art. Shann already has a large variety of the MoYou London plates available in her store, as well as their stamping polish and a number of MoYou London stampers. I chose to review the Illusion 05 stamping plate and the rectangular marshmallow stamper. All the stamping plates are individually packaged by collection.
MoYou London Illusion 05 Stamping PlateWhen you receive the plate, it is covered in a blue protective film to ensure that the plate isn’t scratched when you receive it. Even fine scratches on a plate can affect the stamped image. The film is easy to remove, although I urge you to do so with dry nails as the film can be quite clingy once removed and I have for sure messed up a mani leaving it too late. You can grab at the edge of the plate with a tweezer or you run your finger in one direction to start lifting the film. Once you’ve got a hold on it, it peels back easily.MoYou London Illusion 05 Stamping PlateMoYou London Illusion 05 Stamping PlateI like to wipe down all my plates with pure acetone before each use.  The rectangular stamper is a proper marshmallow stamper. The most squishy one I own and it is also sticky to the touch. This is what the stamper and scraper look like:MoYou London Rectangular Marshmallow StamperI use a lint roller to clean my stampers between uses. I would usually not try to prime this stamper or use acetone on it at all, to protect it’s smooth, sticky finish. If you feel it necessary you can wash the stamping head with dishwashing liquid and lukewarm water. I did find that the stamper worked perfectly with the MoYou London plates, but in order to get it to work well with other plates I had to wipe down the stamping head with acetone first. I was really under the impression one should not buff a marshmallow stamper or use acetone on it, but it did help the stamper pick up images that I could not pick up before. I’m not sure if I will need to do this again in the future. My bornprettystore squishy stamper requires regular priming with a high grit nail file to work well, so it isn’t completely out of the ordinary to manipulate your stamping head to work better. I used the rectangular marshmallow stamper plus the included scraper and MoYou London black stamping polish to stamp all of these images onto paper.MoYou London Illusion 05 stamping swatchesHow funky are these images? Trippy nails for the win! I can’t wait to try out making some decals with these images too. Of course I created a mani using the stamper and plate. This is what I came up with:China Glaze Peonies & Park Ave stamped with MoYou London Illusion 05China Glaze Peonies & Park Ave stamped with MoYou London Illusion 05China Glaze Peonies & Park Ave stamped with MoYou London Illusion 05I started off with Revlon Calcium Gel Nail Hardener as a base coat to protect my nails. I painted 3 coats of China Glaze Peonies & Park Ave on all of my nails. I keep reaching for this shade lately. I am SO ready for summer and neons! Once my nails were dry I used MoYou London Black Stamping Polish and the Illusion 05 plate to stamp on all of my nails. I sealed everything in with a coat of Seche Vite.

I LOVED this mani so much! I got loads of compliments on them as the design with the neon is pretty eye catching. When it came time to take this off I actually recreated this look on my toes because I wanted to wear it for longer. The MoYou London stamping plates are currently available for R150 per plate on the We Heart Nail Art online shop. I don’t mind spending money on stamping plates because you can use them over and over again. Now that reverse stamping/decals have become popular in the nail art world the looks you can create with just one plate become endless. There are also 3 different MoYou London stampers available in the shop.
