Worth The Risque

Color Club is an American brand of polish. They are particularly well known for their amazing holographic polishes (at least as far as I know). The only place that I know of that stocks Color Club in South Africa is Planet Nails. Our Planet Nails was looking mighty dreary when Sanita and I went to shop one time and we decided it wasn’t worth going there again. She received an SMS one day saying the store was under new management and when we went back it was glorious! The shelves were all fully stocked, we were spoilt for choice and they even had a range of Color Club polishes displayed for purchase. I managed to dig out only one holographic polish from the lot though, which is the one I’ll be showing you today.

I started off with my usual base coat of Tip Top Miraculous Results to protect my natural nails. I painted two coat of Color Club Worth The Risque on all of my nails. Once that was dry I used essence sweet surprise colour changing polish and the bottom right image on my PUEEN 41 stamping plate to stamp the hearts onto all my nails. I sealed it all in with a coat of Seche Vite. The result:

In the sun

I had opened the curtains while I was doing this mani and the amazing holo was glistening as I was painting  I was literally falling in love with this polish as I glided the brush over my nails. It is amazing and these photos do not do it justice! As my luck would have it, after the sun set that day we did not see it again until I took this mani off. Winter has set in over here in Cape Town and if the sun does come out I’m usually stuck indoors at work.  I don’t love how the stamping turned out on this mani. I’m struggling with stamping at the moment and trying to figure out why. I’ve been troubleshooting with stamping genius, Ordinary Misfit, without much success. It is difficult trying to troubleshoot over Whatsapp. I *think* my problem might be the scraping, but have also primed my stamper for the first time and will have to play from there. I really hope I can figure it out. I really love the results stamping achieves. It is a really quick and easy way to make perfectly intricate designs on your nails…when it works. I’ll report back on that for sure! I don’t know what has gone wrong. I used to stamp just fine…maybe my stamper just needed a prime. I will let you know 🙂
