Hi everyone! I’m back with a slew of bornprettystore reviews for you. This is the first of 4 reviews I have lined up. When making my choices for items to review, I chose a set of stickers. I don’t normally gravitate towards stickers because I often struggle with them. I am an impatient one and with some stickers, once you place them, you can’t reposition them. Perhaps that is because I am too impatient to let my polish dry completely before I try. Oops. I really liked these stickers though, so I decided to put my doubts aside and give them a go. Let me show you what I came up with.
I started with a base coat to protect my nails. I painted 2 coats of Tip Top Liquid Envy on all of my nails. This metallic green is beautiful. I added a coat of Seche Vite to speed up the dry time of the polish so that I could apply the stickers. The V shaped stickers come in 2 different sizes, I used the larger ones for my bigger nails and the smaller one on my pinkie. I think it balances out quite nicely. One of the bigger stickers probably would have crowded my nail or extended past the tip, so I like the fact that there was more than one size to choose from. These stickers were not too difficult to lift and place again if you put them down incorrectly the first time, just make sure your base colour is dry. The part of the sticker that I placed at the cuticle are already slightly curved which was also nice, so they fit perfectly there. I added 2 coats of Seche Vite over the stickers to seal them in. This caused my base polish to wrinkle slightly, but it didn’t lift the stickers at all. I really like the variety in this pack and will definitely be using these again. If you would like to purchase these stickers, you can find them here.

Hi everyone! For my birthday this year Leebeesa who has moved to Ireland with her new husband sent me some gifts from across the ocean. One of the polishes she gifted me was OPI Chic From Ears to Tail. I was in the mood to wear a pink polish again. She also brought me some nail stickers. Let me show you what I came up with 🙂I started off with Revlon Calcium Gel Nail Hardener as a base coat to protect my nails. I painted 3 coats of OPI Chic From Ears to Tail on all of my nails. I wasn’t super impressed with the formula on this one. It was opaque in 2 coats, but was still uneven. The colour sure is pretty though. On my ring nail I used 2 of the stickers that Leebeesa gave me. On the rest of my nails I painted 1 coat of Zoya Monet (gift from Pish Posh Polish) over Chic From Ears to Tail. Zoya Monet is a glitter topper with iridescent hexes of the same size. They are so pretty when you turn your nails! I sealed everything in with a coat of Seche Vite.
I’d love to hear what you think of this mani in the comments below 🙂 If you’ve used this polish I would also be interested to know what you thought of the formula. OPI normally knocks it out of the park formula wise, maybe it’s just me?

Hi everyone! I have another Born Pretty Store review for you today 🙂 I really enjoy doing these posts. If you’re a regular reader, you already know that I’m a big fan of Born Pretty Store products and that I shop there often for my nail art supplies. Today I have some 3 D nail art stickers to show you. When I opened the package I was really surprised by the sheer size of the sheet I received. Have a look how big it is!There is a large variety of patterns to choose from on this sheet. Have a look:
So many! Stickers are probably the easiest way to get some funky nail looks going. They are easy to use, you don’t need to wait for them to dry and they stay on your nails if you seal them in with top coat. Some of these stickers are too big for my nails, but I do often use stickers on my toes since I can’t be bothered to take the time to do any art on my toes, so I’m sure some of the bigger stickers would work for that. There are also quite a few lines of stickers that are attached to each other. This is nice because you could use them to do a french tip on your nails OR you could cut them away from each other to use them as individual patterns, which is what I did for my mani. Let me show you what I came up with:
How beautiful does that look? I started out with my usual Tip Top base coat to protect my nails. I painted 2 coats of essence kiss me, freddy on all of my nails. Kiss me, freddy is a shimmery mint green polish. The finish is hard to describe. It isn’t a foil or a glitter, maybe somewhere in between. It is a really pretty polish and is unique in my collection. I let the base dry well. Be patient! If you stick down stickers on a wet or tacky base they can wrinkle or sink into the polish and you just end up with a very messy look. I peeled the stickers off the clear backing and applied them with a tweezer. This allows you to place them exactly where you want them with ease and you don’t touch the sticky part of the sticker with your fingers, which can cause them not to stick down well. I sealed everything in with a coat of Seche Vite and voila! A quick and easy manicure 🙂 These stickers also removed quite easily. I’ve worn very stubborn stickers before, but these just required a little extra rubbing.
If you’re paying close attention, you’ll notice that I used one of these stickers for my Mother’s Day nails as well. I used on of the heart stickers on my middle nail as an accent. Here’s a photo reminder:
Someone actually told me that the heart sticker looked like a stud. 3 D effect indeed! I have difficulty with large studs in the middle of my nail as they are not pliable and don’t mold to my c curve, with stickers that is completely eliminated, so it is nice to get the effect of a stud, without any hassle. Hi everyone! As always I interrupt the Valentine’s Day manicures to show you what I was wearing on my nails for my son’s birthday party. Last year I did a mani I was super proud of, my Superman nails turned out so great. About 2 weeks before the party this year I came across a design on The Lacquerologist’s blog which I thought would fit the theme beautifully. I don’t think mine turned out quite as beautiful as hers, but I’ll take it! This is what I ended up with:
I started off with my regular Tip Top base coat to protect my natural nails. I painted two coats of Tip Top Speck-tacular (blue) and Tip Top Love That Shine (pink) on my nails alternating colours. The blue nails represent my son, the knight and the pink nails my daughter, the princess. On the pink nails I added crown stickers from the same pack that I used for her 2nd birthday. On the blue nails I freehanded little castle type things using a striping brush and essence As Long As You Love Me (grey), an L.A. girl mini I won from Ordinary Misfit (black) and I filled in the flags with a dotting tool using Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby. I sealed it all in with a coat of Seche Vite.
I was happy with the way these turned out and once again I thought my dominant hand (left) turned out better than my non dominant hand. What do you think? Are they appropriate for the theme? Let me know in the comments below!

I’m still here. I haven’t taken a long walk on a short pier, although it might have sounded like I was about to in my last post. Thank you for all the positive and supportive comments that you left for me. I really appreciate it and it was definitely encouraging. From around Tuesday afternoon I’ve started feeling better. I haven’t wanted to cry or kill anybody (including myself). I am struggling to sleep at the moment and I feel very tired and it is getting me down a bit, but I am not in nearly as much emotional turmoil as I was over the long weekend. I really was a mess, but I feel much better now 🙂
Potty training is back on track. I feel less despondent about it, but maybe I should rather blog about that when I have had to handle it by myself for an entire weekend. It’s easy to talk when I have a small window in the evenings to deal with. Yesterday Babyice made his very first poo in the potty! We were so excited! The day mother caught him at just the right moment and put him on. I’ll have to keep a close eye on him and see if I can catch him in time. I went to buy him a small plastic potty because he was refusing to sit on the toilet. I also bought a new toilet seat ring that fits under the toilet seat. I think he may have been afraid of the toilet because the seat that fits into the big toilet seat has a tendency to move around while he is trying to get on and I am sure it made him nervous. The new toilet seat ring (what is that thing called?!) is red as is his new potty. He seemed eager to try the new things out after we let him play with them on the way home and for the first time since the long weekend he peed at home in the toilet and the potty
and his underpants. I have implemented a “reward chart” and much positive reinforcement. Every time he goes potty now he gets a high five, some clapping and excitement. I think the excitement might have waned very soon previously (perhaps because I was having a small breakdown). Also, each time he goes to the potty he gets to stick a smiley face sticker on his chart on the back of his bedroom door, accompanied by another high five. I think once he makes a poo in the potty I’ll give him “special stickers” (bigger/different stickers). We’ve requested that the day mother does not put a nappy on him when he comes home, but lets him go on the potty just before we leave. We don’t want him to associate nappies with being at home. For now I plan to use nappies only if we are going out and for night time. Last night I had removed Babyice’s underpants and shorts and wandered off to run his bath and when I returned he had turned around a large red toy that has a hole in the middle, straddled it and was trying to pee in the hole. I had to laugh. Luckily he had just been on the potty and didn’t manage to pee, but he certainly has the right idea!
Wish me luck for the weekend!
