Hi everyone! I told you I would be playing with neons and holos again…so not to disappoint you, I did 🙂 I love the combination of neons and holos…neons and nudes…holos and anything really. Every nail polish addict has their preferences. I’m a holosexual first and foremost and then I would probably put neons a close second.
I started off with a base coat to protect my nails. I started off with a coat of essence wild white ways as a base. I used a make up sponge and China Glaze Highlight of my Summer (green), You Drive Me Coconuts (pink) and Flip Flop Fantasy (orange) to create a gradient on all of my nails. Once that was dry I used Color Club Beyond and MoYou Illusion 05 (press sample) stamping plate to stamp the swirls onto my nails. I sealed everything in with a coat of Seche Vite.
I have so many nail photos laying uploaded in my media folder that I am yet to create posts for, I kind of feel overwhelmed. My blog has been very quiet of late and it has been unavoidable. With some of them I cannot even remember what polishes I used, it’s been that long since I’ve actually done the mani! I’m going to try and do some catching up and write posts for all of the photos. Then I’ll be able to get some content out for you guys.
Thanks for reading!
Hi everyone! I have a personal/nail post for you today. Last week was a hectic week for me. I worked in the city center all week and that meant getting up at 4:15 every morning to avoid the bumper to bumper traffic. I had also had my car looked at the week before because it is making some weird noises that I wanted to sort out. After getting a few quotes I realized it was going to cost me quite a bit to fix even half the things I wanted to sort out. The CV joints and stabiliser links need to be replaced, the aircon makes a weird sound when you put it on, the wipers don’t work so great, the brakes make a funny noise when you stop and that is just off the top of my head. On Tuesday while I was driving through to town on my own in the dark, the car started jerking while I was driving at a high speed. I totally panicked. It felt like it was going to cut out while I was driving. Almost like terrible clutch control, except there was no clutch involved. Rudi was off from work, so he drove through to town on the scooter and took the car to see if he could sort it out. He noticed the spark plugs were wet and replaced them. We thought that would sort it out, but it didn’t. The car was still jerking at both low and high speeds. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Now that I am driving around alone a lot and with kids in the car, I decided I needed to get another car. I need a reliable car that is also safe.
So on Wednesday we went to the car dealership and they offered me the exact amount I had in mind for trading in my car. We looked at a few options in our price range and settled on getting a Chevrolet Cruz 1.8 LS. It’s a 2009 model, but it has really low mileage and is in very good condition. I was able to take her for a spin on Monday and she is so quiet and so smooth! I was supposed to take delivery on Tuesday, but when doing the 114 point check the dealership decided to replace the shocks on the car and it still has to go in for safety film (smash and grab window tinting)…so I’ll be fetching my new baby today! Luckily my old car is still jerking along, so I haven’t been stuck without a car. I’m also okay with waiting an extra day if it means they are replacing something that I may have needed to replace at a later stage.
This is the first time I will be driving a Chevvy! I’m trying to contain my excitement until I actual get the car, but I just couldn’t resist doing a mani! Firstly, here is a pic of the new car 😀
Here are the nails I came up with 🙂
For this mani I used OPI Nail Envy as my base coat and painted 2 coats of Color Club Beyond on all of my nails except my ring nail. Beyond is a gorgeous dark grey holo. So stunning! On my ring nail I painted 3 thin coats of China Glaze Some Like It Haute. SLIH is a full coverage glitter with small charcoal micro glitters and larger silver holographic hexes in a clear base. I absolutely love this polish and was glad to pull it off the shelf again. On my middle nail I used Tip Top Armour Plate (silver), Gold Digger (gold) and a striping brush to freehand the Chevrolet badge. I sealed everything in with a coat of Seche Vite. I didn’t think it turned out that great until I put my hand against the steering wheel. I’m actually quite chuffed with how it came out 🙂
Here’s to many happy kilometres in the new car! What do you think of my mani? Did I do a good job?
