Hi! I have another GORGEOUS piCture pOlish from We Heart Nail Art to show you today. We Heart Nail Art is an online store bringing imported brands to South African nail addicts. What I really love about this is that I can shop for these rather exclusive brands from the comfort of my chair. Goods are delivered via courier, so no waiting for your package to come through snail mail and possibly getting stuck at customs and then still having to pay more when it finally arrives in your mailbox. The owner, Shann, is also always on the lookout for new exciting products she can offer. If you’re a nail art lover like me, you *need* to visit this store on a regular basis! Did you see my review of Obsession?
piCture pOlish is an Australian indie brand that is 5 free. This means that the polishes are not only made without the 3 common chemicals found in nail polish (Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde), but also without 2 other very dangerous chemicals (Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor). piCture pOlish also contains no artificial fragrances or flavours, is vegan friendly and cruelty free. Today I have piCture pOlish Fool’s Gold to show you. It wasn’t my first choice from the polishes, but after swatching it I realized that was short sighted. This polish is a thing of beauty! Let me show you the swatches.Above you see 3 thin coats of piCture pOlish Fool’s Gold without top coat. Fool’s Gold was created in 2014 with Sammy aka The Nailasaurus (Blogger/UK). The inspiration behind the polish: Flecks of gold as seen through deep tropical waters. The formula on this polish was divine. Even though it has small glitter suspended in it the formula was not at all thick as some glitter polishes can be. It dries quite quickly to a gorgeous shiny finish. I also took a few photos of this beauty with some Seche Vite top coat. Was I right or was I right? This polish is AMAZING! I was never a fan of blue polishes, but how can one not LOVE this? The great news is that this removed quite easily too, despite the glitter. Personally if I try to remove a polish and struggle just a little bit I’ll whip out the foil and remove the rest with the foil method, but I didn’t find it necessary at all with Fool’s Gold.
An excerpt from my previous piCture pOlish post:
Currently piCture pOlish retails for R180 each on the We Heart Nail Art website. I understand that it seems pretty steep for just one bottle of polish, but there are several factors one should take into consideration when deciding whether or not you want to spend the money. piCture pOlish is a big deal. Even the nail addicts in the United States who have access to hundreds of indie brands go gaga over these polishes. Currently OPI retails for about R170 per bottle. OPI is a good brand, but it is freely available and in my opinion lacks the collector’s item factor and is not nearly as exclusive as piCture pOlish. They also offer very unique polishes which you won’t find duplicates for with other brands.
I am seriously in love with both the polishes I received for review and would definitely recommend the brand. Currently We Heart Nail Art is the sole importer for piCture pOlish in South Africa and are listed on their website as an international stockist.
