Hi everyone! I have a very different Christmas mani to show you today. It’s no secret that I love neon nails. I was trying to figure out what Christmas mani to do next and realized that I don’t ever recall seeing neon Christmas nails. I think the reason for this is fairly obvious. Neon polishes are considered summer colours and since the northern hemisphere dominates Christmas symbolism and it is winter there over Christmas time, neons don’t feature. Look, I’m fairly certain I am not the first to think of this, but I think it’s time that our summertime Christmas has it’s moment 🙂 Let me show you what I came up with.
I started off with an L.A. Girl base coat to protect my nails. All of the polishes used here are from China Glaze.
- Flip Flop Fantasy (orange)
- That’s Shore Bright (purple)
- Peonies & Park Ave (pink)
- Highlight of my Summer (green)
- Fairy Dust (topper)
I used nail vinyls that I purchased from BecauseIShop.co.za to create this mani. If you noticed that the Christmas tree looks a little wonky, it’s because the vinyl tore as I was trying to remove it. The tree has a few places where the detail is very fine and in one of those twirls the vinyl tore mid nail so I had to use my tweezer to lift the firmly stuck down vinyl from my nail and I had to try and fix it with a dotting tool. I didn’t do the best job, but I didn’t have time to redo the whole nail. Of course I had no issues with the tree vinyl on my Cindy hand. Go figure. I topped all my nails with a coat of Fairy Dust, if it doesn’t sparkle it isn’t Christmassy enough, right? I would also like to mention that Flip Flop Fantasy is not colour accurate in these pictures. This neon freaks out my camera every time. It is the most gorgeous orange though, my favourite ever ever. I sealed my mani with a coat of Seche Vite.
I would love to hear what you think of this very non traditional Christmas mani in the comments below!
