Hi everyone! I have a very simple mani to show you today. I did this one during the holidays to tide me over for the week. I did a review mani on the same day and didn’t have time for anything complicated. It was still super pretty though. The essence polish you’ll be seeing here is a gorgeous duochrome. I absolutely love the fact that essence releases these kinds of polishes. Duochromes are as scarce as chicken teeth over here and you can’t beat the price point. Take a look…
I started off with an L.A. Girl base coat to protect my nails. I painted 2 easy coats of essence You Wow’d Me Again on all of my nails. As you can see from my photos the shift is really obvious on the nail and it is gorgeous! People that looked at my nails were in awe watching it shift from purple to green. It is a little bit brush strokey, but it didn’t really bother me. I have recently come to learn that sponging on polishes that show brush strokes prominently will eliminate this completely. I still haven’t tried it, but my fellow bloggers have and the results were awesome. On my ring nail I painted 1 coat of Make Up Gallery Purple Glitz (gift) over You Wow’d Me Again. You could probably get this glitter polish opaque in 3 – 4 coats, but I tested it on my nail wheel and for this mani I decided I liked it better layered. Purple Glitz consists of small purple glitter with larger holographic hexes throughout. as with most glitter polishes it was on the thicker side, but I didn’t find it too difficult to work with. I sealed everything in with a coat of Seche Vite.
What do you do when you’re short on time, but can’t stand to leave your nails bare? (totally me!)
