Ben and Cherries

Before the CosmoPolished event that I blogged about here, I thought to do a simple mani that I could wear to the event and take off when we were there. Turns out I was the only twat to wear polish to the event in the first place and I ended up taking mine off while they were doing the initial presentation with the remover provided on the table.

For this simple mani I started off with my usual base coat of Tip Top Miraculous Results. I painted all my nails with 3 coats of essence Ben and Cherries which is a very soft pink creme from their limited edition Me & My Ice Cream collection. I struggled a little with this polish, but it is completely possible that I was being heavy handed. I found that I had grooved brush strokes while applying it, specifically on the second and third coats, but they did level themselves out well. Maybe I was just having a bad day. On my middle and ring nails I added a gold heart stud from Born Pretty Store. Putting these hearts on the middle of my nails was a bit problematic. They are quite big and completely flat/straight, meaning they were practically balancing on top of the curve of my nail. I found myself very scared that they would hook on something and pop off. I slathered them with my Seche Vite top coat though and they made it to the event unscathed. The results:

This is a beautiful soft pink shade and I think I’ll try to paint it again before deciding whether I like the formula or not. What do you think? Are you into very simple, soft nails like these?
