Hi everyone! I have my last car mani to show you today. I took inspiration from the colour of my new car for this one. It is a metallic blue/silver colour. It is kind of a chameleon as it changes depending on the light. If the sun is bright it looks silver and if it is darker or overcast it is easier to see the blue. The nails you see below were filed by a professional. I decided to visit the beauty therapist at work and let her file my nails so I can watch her and perhaps learn what I am doing wrong. I asked her to make my nails squoval and she did. I also painted her Orly Bonder rubberized base coat on all my nails to protect them for the rest of the work day. Let me show you the mani I came up with:
I started off with Orly Bonder rubberized base coat to protect my natural nails. I painted 2 coats of Color Club What a Drag on all of my nails. What A Drag is a silver foil polish. It was a little sheer on the first coat, but perfect on the second. I painted 2 coats of Nubar Absolute over What a Drag. Absolute is a very sheer, light blue, scattered holographic polish. Even though I painted 2 coats, you can still see the silver quite clearly through the polish. It kind of looks like a metallic blue – just like my car! 😉 Once that was dry I used the small car image from PUEEN 38 and essence black stampy polish to stamp the car on my index nails. On the rest of my nails I used the right hand image on PUEEN 29 and Rubybox For the Chill of It to stamp the mirror image hearts. This represents my love for my new ride! I put a little bow rhinestone on the top of my car as they put a big ass bow on my car when I collected it. I requested a pink bow, but only had a clear bow rhinestone. Here’s a pic of me picking up my car:
The person that took that pic edited it slightly, so the blue looks darker than it really is. Here’s another pic for reference:
See? Chameleon car! I’m really enjoying driving around! My husband and I are taking turns till the novelty wears off 😉 What do you guys think of this mani?
