*sigh*

A lot has happened since my last post. Our landlady was eager to help us and advertised our flat for 15 August. She had an overwhelming response and scheduled 9 people to view the flat the very same day in the evening. 20 minutes before all these people were due to arrive I got a phone call from the other tenant. His landlord doesn’t want to rent the house out anymore, he wants to ‘keep it for himself.’ I later learned his intention was to rent the house to his brother in law. The very first people who walked into our flat that night wanted it. They had their paperwork in the car and handed it to my landlady. References and all. I had informed my landlady before they walked in that the situation had changed. Everything was so awkward. Babyice was sleeping and people peeked into his room and hushed around the flat. They all left and my landlady and I started brainstorming as to what we could do. We agreed that I would keep on looking and see if I could find another place. I was not optimistic since we had already been looking for a while.

The whole situation was terrible. We kept looking, but the landlady had to get back to the couple who handed in all their documentation by 1PM yesterday. She is super nice and had trouble with this situation, one I feel I put her in. I withdrew my notice and she informed them the flat is no longer available. I feel so bad for putting her in such a difficult position. We should have let the other tenant talk to his landlord before I alerted her, but everything felt so rushed with the 15 August “deadline”. We’re just all glad it’s over. We’re still looking for another place, but haven’t found anything yet. We’re signing a new lease agreement for 6 months and will continue to look.

Babyice seems to have healed from his bronchitis, but his eyes are still gunking up the whole time. I phoned the doctor and he advised me to bring him in again as he might be getting recurring infections because his sinuses are blocked up and need to be “opened”. He mentioned an opthomologist and the ENT. Sounds farking expensive!  Our medical aid is already cleaned out, so no chance of claiming from there :( I am considering changing medical aid next year. Running out in June/July every year is killing our budget.

I have to get my car serviced now too and I think I have to have the cam belt (cambelt?) replaced.  THOUSANDS of rands. Seriously. Whyyyyyyyy?! Pfft.

Other than that I have sort of solidified my plans for my birthday. Doesn’t seem like too many people are interested in coming so far. More cake for me.

Good luck with the specialist for Babyice – I hope you’ll update the blog after. My little one also keeps getting gunked up eyes so it’ll be good to know if there’s a fix.

Hope you find the perfect home in the next 6 months!

Finally getting a chance to work through my reader. Sorry about all the drama. Moving is stressful enough as it is.

Hope you find an awesome place soon.
