Easter weekend
I can’t believe I haven’t blogged all week. Well…I’m here now.
Babyice’s 5th tooth finally popped out properly on Sunday and we had pancakes to celebrate. I know it’s not his first tooth, but any excuse for pancakes really. He has been waking up at night recently which is unlike him. I’m not sure if he is going through a growth spurt or if it’s teething or night terrors (the one night he seemed pretty terrified, screaming as soon as you put him down. This went on for two hours), but I hope he gets over it. We’re all so much happier when we sleep
I haven’t been feeling *as* tired this week as I was last week. I *still* haven’t gone for blood tests and me feeling better now gives me an excuse to prolong it even longer. I did, however, go for my eye test and ordered new contacts that I cannot wait to receive. My prescription has changed by .25 in each eye and when she put the lenses in front of my current contacts it made a really big difference. She also advised me to take my contacts out when I’m sleeping at least twice a week (I wear the ones designed so that you can sleep with them) to allow my eyes to “breathe” since they are deprived of oxygen if you sleep with your contacts in all the time.
We are not going away for the Easter weekend. At least I am not working! I am working on the 27th of April though (a public holiday in South Africa), but it shouldn’t be too hectic and I’ll probably get home early. Tomorrow we’re going to church and straight after heading off to Nitida wine farm for a tweet up because @Gnat_J and @pauljacobson are in CT with their kiddies
We met Paul and Gina at Angel and Glugster‘s wedding, but we haven’t met their son and daughter (a fairly new arrival) and they haven’t met Babyice, so we’re excited! I quite like Nitida’s wine and they are a kid-friendly venue. The last time I was there Babyice was just a twinkle in his daddy’s eye, so I wasn’t looking out for things like that, but it should be loads of fun. We haven’t bought any easter eggs for Babyice yet, for fear of us devouring them before he gets them.
I better get my bum back to work. We’re being watched.

Firstly, that suck that the work check up on you guys.
Secondly, me and hubby also did not buy our children Easter Eggs because it is a temptation and secondly, I want my children to be dependent on healthy sugars like fruit and yogurt and not on sweets.
So glad to hear that you are off for the weekend. Enjoy it.
Happy Easter.
hope you enjoy your weekend off and have a really great easter! dont stress too much about the easter egg thing when my daughter was smaller she didnt like the taste of chocolate (all the family still ended up buying chocolates for her anyway which we ate) maybe buy him a new bunny toy or something he will anyway get spoilt by friends and family anyway. and besides dont know about on your side but on this side of the coast the easter egg range this year isnt all that grand!
So cool that you have Easter weekend off! I would so love to have attended that Tweetup yesterday- some of my favourite people were in attendance!
