PT and new results

After last Thursday's fiasco I wasn't overly excited to go back to gym, but I wasn't hesitant either. We were going to go to gym on Friday night, but since Babyice hadn't been well Rudi wanted to go on Saturday morning. He said I could go on Friday night, but I really prefer going with him so we skipped it. On Saturday morning we went and I had an INCREDIBLE work out (just when I wasn't excited about it). I doubled my time on the elliptical machine to 8 minutes (the Orbitrek thingie), doubled my usual cycling distance (3 km in total), rowed, used the stepper and did some exercises on the circuit. I swear at some point I must have had some endorphins going. I felt great and couldn't stop smiling. I was still stiff from that workout this morning. When we got home I still had the energy to clean the house!

I find that music *really* helps me exercise and push harder. I was using my Blackberry while we were working out on Saturday and it fell while I was training :'( It now has 3 blank white lines across the screen (it started with 1 and has gotten worse) which are very annoying. Since I was planning on giving this phone to Rudi when I upgrade soon I'm going to have to get it fixed. Luckily I'm insured. I need an iPod or MP3 player for gym now though, I don't want to risk damaging my phone any further :(

Like I said I was still a little stiff when I went for my first session with the PT this morning. I was up before anyone else in the complex stirred. I got to the centre at about 04:55 and waited a few minutes for the gym to open. I was surprised to see quite a few people joining me. My PT was on time and put me on the treadmill for 10 minutes on an increased gradient. That sure got my heart rate up! I usually do the treadmill with no gradient. We then went upstairs (hidden exercise within the gym) and did some weight training. I did some weight lifting (basically just the pole thing with tiny weights on since my arms are pretty weak), exercise with dumbbells, one of the circuit machines and some curls. I could really feel the burn at the end of each exercise. He then put me on the elliptical machine for 12 minutes! That's triple the time I started out with. There was a point I wanted to say "I've had enough", but I'm not much of a quitter and I pushed through till he said to stop. I was very hot and flustered, but I'd survived my first PT session and I was chuffed with myself. I had a nice relaxed drive home with the aircon on full blast. It was lovely.

I'm not sure how I'm going to fit this in before work on Friday since I only got home at 5:55 and hadn't showered or anything. We usually leave home at 6:15 to be in time for work at 07:00. It's a squeeze. I'll be going to gym with Rudi again tonight, the PT suggested it and gave me instructions as to what I should do. I'm working really hard at this and I'm sure it's going to be worth it! We're loosely sticking to the eating plan until we can go shopping at the end of the month. Oh! I weighed at the gym on Saturday again. I actually wanted to make sure whether or not my body fat had dropped. I was pleasantly surprised to see I had actually lost weight! I'm so happy to get that ticker on the left moving in the right direction! No more weighing for a while now though…I don't want to go through the disappointment again. I'd rather be ecstatic :)

Babyice broke out in a rash all over his body, except for his face and neck on Sunday. I suspected measles since I had measles myself in 2007 and remember what the spots look like. We showed the day mother at church (where the rash became obvious) and she said it looks like it's just baby measles and shouldn't be anything to worry about. Considering the fever and unexplained crying he had just a few days before it made a lot of sense. He seemed fine though and didn't even seem to need pain/fever medication so we aren't panicking about it. Doctors cannot treat measles anyway, only the symptoms which I can do at home. He still had the rash this morning and I hope it goes away really soon. We still need to take him for his vaccinations on Wednesday.

Can't wait for gym tonight, going to work on my tummy which is something that really bugs me. In the meantime I'll just lie here on the couch :)

    Well done girlfriend!

Make sure that you can take your baby for his vaccinations while he still has the rash. In some cases they will make you delay the vaccinations until the illness has cleared

It sounds like babyice could have Roseola:

Its a viral illness where the baby has high fevers and then a few days later breaks out in a rash. Its not a serious illness because by the time the rash breaks out, the virus is on its way out! Stella had it when she was about 9 months. Mention it to your Dr because they might not want to vaccinate if he is still contagious. Great work on the gym!
