Ouchness

My legs are soooooore! I went to gym on Wednesday morning at 5 AM for my appointment with my PT. We did some exercises. Push, push, push! We did some squats with an exercise ball at my back for support, sit ups (Yes! I did sit ups!), some other leg exercises and tons of time on the elliptical trainer (okay, 13 minutes the first time and 5 the second). I left feeling positively nauseous. Today my legs hurt like a mofo! If I sit still for a while and then take a walk it hurts! I've been walking a bit like a cowboy, even though it's the area above my knees that is tender. While I was doing the sit ups I thought my stomach would be very sore, while that is okay my legs are giving me hell! Hopefully it will be better before my session tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow is going to be a rush for me. I have gym at 5 AM, then I have to take Rudi to work so that I can drop my car off at a mechanic near where I work. What's wrong with my car? *sigh* I'm SO annoyed with GM Motors right now! When I bought my car there was a problem with the right hand indicator only working intermittently. I reported this within 30 days of purchasing the vehicle and had proof of this. When I took my car in for a service last year, they quoted me R600 to fix the indicator. I contested this as I had reported it within the 'cooling off period' and as I had documentation to prove it, they couldn't argue. The indicator worked when we picked up the car. Out of the blue the indicator is doing exactly the same thing. We took the car in for them to have a look at it and they say it is now a problem with the wiring and the costs to repair it will be for my own account and that the car would need to be booked in for two days to repair it. They mentioned something about having to drop the fuse box to repair it which takes a lot of time or something. I needed the car, so I collected it and the indicator does not work AT ALL now. They released the car without re-connecting whatever they disconnected. Obviously their work comes with no guarantee. I'm positive they did a slapstick job of fixing the indicator last time (they 'say' they replaced the relay) and now expect me to pay for the repairs now that it has conked in. I've decided to take the car to someone else to fix as I am certain they will rip me off.

So after dropping Rudi off I will arrive at work (late, I've discussed this with my boss) and at some point tomorrow morning I will have to ask a colleague to take me through to the mechanic to check out the indicator. More than one of my colleagues have made use of his services and are quite happy with his work. Rudi finishes work early tomorrow and won't have a lift to the mechanic's place. The indicator needs to be fixed though, so he'll just have to bit the bullet tomorrow.

Babyice's measles are all better and we managed to take him for his shots yesterday. He hasn't suffered any side effects yet and I am glad for that. We are invited to a party on Saturday night. We've looked high and low for a babysitter and found nobody. Everyone has plans already or the situation isn't ideal. Rudi asked *everybody* including two of our neighbours if they could babysit for us. I wasn't comfortable with the person Rudi had settled on and decided that I would either have to stay home and let him go (story of my life) or find a suitable babysitter. I decided to chance asking the day mother. She said yes! He'll stay there overnight on Saturday. We'll drop him off after his bath and pick him up before church on Sunday. I told her I'd put a little extra money in her pay packet as thanks :) I'll give her R100.00. Some nice overtime for her considering we pay her R700.00 a month. She has everything she needs there for Elijah including a cot for him to sleep in, nappies, wipes, formula, food and he will be in familiar surroundings with someone he knows. What a load off!

Having a reliable babysitter is so awesome. I have to rely on the moods of my mother. If she can’t help me I’m pretty much stuck. Yay for your day mother.

Thats cool that his daymother will babysit! Was the party worth it?
    :P

Honestly, not really. I was designated driver and didn’t know many people there…so it wasn’t worth the R100 I paid for the day mother to babysit!
